Russia qualified for the Davis Cup final in Madrid on Saturday, winning thanks to Andrey Rublev (5th worldwide) and Daniil Medvedev (2nd) both singles against Germany, and will face Croatia on Sunday in an attempt to win the Silver Salad Bowl.
After Rublev's speedy victory over Dominik Koepfer (54th) 6-4, 6-0 in 50 minutes, Medvedev took the point of the qualification by beating Jan-Lennard Struff (51st) 6-4, 6-4.
The doubles are no-stakes and the Russians will play their 6th Davis Cup final in the hope of a 3rd coronation after 2002 and 2006.
