The planned expansion of the Kurhaus in Bad Tölz is described as the most sensitive building project in Bad Tölz for decades.
The city council discussed the next steps at an on-site meeting.

- "The Kurhaus extension has been the most sensitive building project for decades," said Third Mayor Christof Botzenhart, once again emphasizing the importance of any discussion at the city council meeting on Tuesday.
It was he who judged the plans for the recently presented expansion of the Seidl building from 1914 into the slope of the Türk-Wiese with a glass facade and warned them to be careful.
Kurhaus Bad Tölz: five architecture offices should be requested
At a non-public on-site meeting on November 12th, the city council inspected the monument in the spa park and discussed the feasibility study.
Result: five architects' offices are to be asked specifically for the facade design of the extension building.
According to the presentation in the city council, a jury will then make a decision.
“That is no longer hopeless or top, but we have different alternatives,” Mayor Ingo Mehner said in favor of this approach.
The city council unanimously followed this proposal.
Important: This decision only lays the foundation for expansion planning.
"It's not about the Türk-Wiese and the Kleiner Kursaal today," explained Chamberlain Hermann Forster.

Events from the Kleiner Kursaal are to be relocated to the Kurhaus in the future
The first step is to expand the Kurhaus with an underground car park.
Only when it is known that the parking issue must definitely be resolved by an underground car park in the neighboring Türk area, a concept tender for the marketing of the currently urban property can be initiated.
According to the written city council draft, this will probably not happen before the third quarter of 2022.
The aim is also that all uses that previously took place in the Kleiner Kursaal are relocated to the new event center in the Kurhaus, so that a decision can then be made about future use and marketing of the Kleiner Kursaal.
The presentation of the plans for the Kurhaus extension has already sparked discussions in Bad Tölz.
A group of citizens advocated using the Franciscan Church as a concert hall instead.
