The Iranian armed forces announced that they had conducted a test of the air defense system to counter any possible attack in the skies of the Badrud region, near the Natanz nuclear facility in Isfahan province, central Iran.
The commander of the air defense of the Natanz region said in a statement carried by Iranian television today that one of the missile systems was tested to assess field readiness, pointing out that such exercises are being conducted to evaluate the existing systems in the region and take place in a completely safe environment and in full coordination of the integrated defense network.
Earlier today, local sources reported hearing an explosion in the Badrud area and seeing smoke in the sky over the area.
