Homs-Sana

Children of different age groups with inclinations towards music and singing found an opportunity in a recently established choir group in Homs to express their talents and to stand on the stage and learn the principles of singing and voice exercises.

The team that bore the name Let's Sing Together was founded by the Book Friends Forum in Homs, among the participants in the cultural and educational activities of the forum, which are held on a weekly basis in the updated cultural center in Al-Zahra district.

In a statement to SANA Cultural Center, Rola Hassan, founder of the Book Friends Forum, pointed out that collective singing has existed since time immemorial and choral works have a special musical character, so they must be encouraged and supported with all their capabilities.

The musician Fayez Al-Shami, who supervises the children’s training, explained that the exercises include vocal exercises, singing and how to unify the sounds, indicating the importance of the choir enjoying the freedom of rhythmic movement and movement between various popular and international rhythms in a way that preserves the dynamic and flowing melodies and a sense of continuity.

The children of the choir team are trained on the songs of Mrs. Fairouz during this foundational stage because, according to Al-Shami, her songs are simple and close to the ear of the recipient and are easy to memorize by children.
