210 people crammed into the trailer of a truck: Migrants of various nationalities have been picked up by security forces in Mexico.

Members of the national guard and officials of the immigration authorities found the people near a checkpoint in the municipality of Esperanza in the state of Puebla, as the immigration authority (INM) announced on Saturday night (local time).

The truck was tracked and stopped after not stopping at the checkpoint.

The security forces heard calls for help and knocks and opened the trailer door.

They found adults and children between metal scaffolding, ceilings and equipment.

The driver of the truck and the vehicle were handed over to the prosecutor.

Just two weeks ago, 600 migrants were rescued from two trucks in Mexico.

Most of the people apprehended in the country come from the Central American countries of Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.

There is poverty, violence and corruption.

Added to this are the consequences of droughts and natural disasters.

Numerous people from other crisis countries in the region such as Haiti, Cuba and Venezuela also recently dared the long and dangerous journey through Mexico.

Many do not even reach the US border, but are held up by Mexican soldiers and sent back.

It is unclear whether the people who have now been apprehended were on their way to the USA.
