Raisi and Maduro: The necessity of developing relations between Tehran and Caracas

Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi described the relations between his country and Venezuela as strategic, stressing the importance of developing bilateral cooperation, especially in the trade and economic fields.

In a phone call today with his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro, Raisi referred to the great potential of the two countries, pointing out the necessity of fully implementing the agreements signed between the two sides and preparing the ground for new agreements.

The Iranian president praised Caracas' stances against hegemony schemes, praising Venezuela's independence and liberation aspirations.

For his part, the Venezuelan president said that despite the threats and attacks imposed by imperialism on his country, it was able to defend its security and stability thanks to the efforts of its people.

Maduro stressed the need to create a new dynamism in the economic relations between the two countries and said, with the help of each other, we will create great momentum in bilateral relations, especially in the fields of energy and economy.
