Microsoft's subscription service, the Game Pass, is a monthly subscription service that allows players to access an online game library, like the gaming Netflix if you will. While the Game Pass is available for both Xbox and PC gamers, Sony PlayStation players have wondered what Sony's answer will be and whether it's planning its own service that will compete with that of Microsoft.
Now a Bloomberg website report indicates that Sony is indeed working on their own service that has been given the project name "Spartacus" which will actually unify its existing subscription services, PS PLUS and PS NOW, and offer access not only to previous and current generation games, but Also PlayStation 1, 2 and 3 games.
The launch of the service is expected to take place as early as next spring, and it will be offered for PlayStation 4, 5 and PC users.
It will maintain the PS PLUS branding and will be divided into different monthly payment routes that will give subscribers different benefits accordingly: the first route will be the same route as the current PS PLUS subscription, the second route will allow access to PlayStation 4 and 5 games, and the third route will also allow access to the cloud service and streaming games from The different generations.

The Game Pass service has been a massive success and according to reports, about 18 million users currently subscribe to it.
While the move is considered an industry precedent and very user-friendly, it also helped prove that the future of companies no longer relies not only on the number of console units sold in each generation, but also the number of monthly and regular users is considered a very central and important factor nowadays.
Sony realized that the company could not rely solely on the sale of exclusive consoles and titles, and recently opened itself to the PC gaming community, setting up the Playstation PC division, which is responsible for computer-adapted versions for its exclusive titles - a move that opened it up to a new consumer audience.
