The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned today the new Western sanctions imposed by the United States, the European Union, Britain and Canada on Belarus, stressing that they are "illegal".
"The new sanctions imposed by Western countries on Belarus are illegal and inhuman," Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Sputnik, adding, "We strongly condemn these new restrictive measures that were adopted at the same time by the United States, the European Union, Britain and Canada, which are Illegal".
The European Union, the United States, Britain and Canada had imposed a new package of sanctions on Belarus due to allegations of "violation of human rights and the migrant crisis at the borders between Belarus and European countries" and Minsk, in turn, confirmed that it would take strict measures in response to the sanctions.
