The Israeli occupation continues to violate international legitimacy resolutions and expand settlement operations in the West Bank by announcing more of its Jewish plans to impose new facts on the ground and undermine any chance of establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
The National Office for Defending Land and Resisting Settlements of the Palestine Liberation Organization stated in its weekly report issued today that the occupation authorities recently announced eight new plans to expand settlements and establish 3,058 settlement units in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem.
The report indicated that the plans aim to establish 628 new settlement units on the lands of Palestinians in the villages of Al-Sawiya and Qaryut, 286 settlement units on the lands of Burin village in Nablus, 82 settlement units on the lands of the villages of Deir Istiya and Kafr Laqif, 28 units on the lands of the village of Qarawat Bani Hassan, and 20 settlement units on the lands of the villages of Deir Istiya and Kafr Laqif. Kafr ad-Dik town in Salfit and 14 settlement units on the lands of Deir Diwan village in Ramallah.
The report emphasized that settlement operations and Judaization schemes continue in occupied Jerusalem with the aim of separating and isolating it from its Palestinian surroundings completely, changing its historical, legal and demographic reality, and eliminating any possibility of establishing an independent Palestinian state with its capital in Jerusalem. The report pointed out the continued violations of the occupation forces in occupied Jerusalem, as they demolished three commercial facilities in the towns of Anata, Abu Dis and Beit Hanina, and forced a Palestinian young man to forcibly demolish his house in Jabal Mukaber, and bulldozed Palestinian lands in the Al-Sala’a neighborhood with the aim of seizing it. They also demolished three homes and two agricultural facilities east of Masafer Yatta. South Hebron, a house and an agricultural facility in the town of Nahalin in Bethlehem, and an agricultural well in the town of Ni'lin, northwest of Ramallah, was destroyed, and Palestinians were deprived of drinking water.
The report continued: In the northern Jordan Valley, the occupation forces launched a massive campaign of intimidation in Khirbet al-Ras al-Ahmar and seized 6 agricultural tractors, 5 private vehicles and 5 water tankers, stormed Khirbet al-Hadidiya and assaulted Palestinians. The south of the city was designated to serve thousands of acres of agricultural land.
The report indicated that the settlers continue their attacks on the Palestinians in their cities and towns under the protection of the occupation forces with the aim of displacing them and seizing their lands and Judaizing them. The Palestinians in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood damaged a number of them, and two Palestinians were injured as a result of a run-over operation by an Israeli settler near Jouret al-Anab neighborhood west of the Old City wall, while dozens of settlers stormed the archaeological area in Sebastia town north of Nablus and Jalud town south of the city and attacked Palestinians and their property.
