Today, the branch of the Syrian Association for the Physically Handicapped in As-Suwayda honored 50 students with disabilities in various educational levels, during an event held on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
The event included lyrical segments with playing in addition to a short theatrical performance on the folklore in As-Suwayda, where a number of honorees expressed their thanks for this initiative and the support provided by the association throughout the year, expressing their willingness to continue their education and move towards the future.
The Secretary of the Sub-Council for Persons with Disabilities in As-Suwayda, Basem Al-Shater, pointed out in his speech the importance of motivating people with disabilities to pursue their education and educational attainment, pointing out the importance of reviving this occasion to remind this segment of their duties and rights towards society and to highlight their capabilities and creativity in various fields.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the branch of the Syrian Association for the Physically Handicapped in Sweida, Nizar Shuja, pointed out that this celebration sheds light on this segment and shows its ability to give, expressing the association's readiness to continue providing various forms of support to it.
The branch of the Syrian Association for the Physically Handicapped was established in Sweida in 1997 and works to provide a variety of free services for people with disabilities.
