The permanent Russian representative to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, revealed today that Iran wants to bring about a fundamental change in the draft agreement on the ongoing talks on the nuclear agreement in Vienna, and its desire to obtain a guarantee that the agreement will not collapse.
Sputnik news agency quoted Ulyanov as telling reporters: "Western partners had a strong impression that the Iranian side proposed a fundamental change and radical amendments to the draft nuclear document, which was agreed upon during the previous six rounds... This approach seemed to them very radical, and for this the sharp reaction appeared." .
Ulyanov also pointed out that there is a rule in the nuclear talks in Vienna that “there is no agreement until everything is agreed upon, meaning that adjustments and changes in the situation are always possible, but it is desirable that these adjustments be calculated and do not turn into an obstacle in the way of progress. The situation is dramatic.”
He added, "The Iranians' demand for guarantees is clear and fully justified... There must be certainty that the malicious experiment that took place during the era of former US President Donald Trump with the policy of maximum pressure and additional sanctions will not be repeated," noting that if Iran needs any other guarantees, they can also be discussed. .
Ulyanov made it clear that Iran, as the most interested party in this regard, should present its proposals and others should consider them carefully because the question Iran raises is quite reasonable and justified.
