An emergency malfunction of the main water station feeding the city of Deir ez-Zor caused it to go out of service and cut off water in a number of the city's neighborhoods.
The Director of the Public Establishment for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Deir Ezzor, Engineer Jassem Al-Hamid, said in a statement to SANA reporter that an emergency malfunction occurred in the raw line, which is of the type of reinforced polyester pipes with a diameter of 500 mm, which led to a water cut off in most of the city’s neighborhoods, pointing out that the maintenance workshops in the institution started immediately. The process of drilling and maintenance, which may take several hours for the institution to return to pumping water normally.
