Yitzhak Chen, a 48-year-old IDF invalid from Jerusalem, took his own life today (Sunday), about 30 years after he was injured in a parachuting accident during his military service. He went through it.

The Ministry of Defense rejected the connection between the tragic case and his injury during his military service and said: "The Ministry of Defense shares the deep grief of the Yitzhak family and examines the circumstances of the incident. Preliminary investigation shows that the background is not related to post-trauma Chen Yitzhak was recognized as an IDF invalid for a back injury he sustained in a parachuting accident during his military service in 1992. His applications for recognition of the disease, which he suffered several years after his release, were denied, both by the Magistrates Court and the District Court.
This is due to the lack of a causal link between the disease and his military service.
His illness is treated within the community and the HMO to which he belongs.
