Al-Hayat Association for the Care of Persons with Disabilities in Tartous organized today an art exhibition for a number of its affiliated children, ranging in age from 7 to 12 years, at its headquarters in Al-Raml neighborhood in Tartous.
Madian Tufaha, Secretary-General of the Sub-Council of Disability in Tartous, said in a press statement that the event is among the activities held on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, and carries a double message, the first directed to the families of these children to believe in the abilities of their children and develop them, and the second for the local community, including associations, bodies, organizations and unions, to contribute in an effective way to providing social service. This category is financially and morally correct.
The head of the Arwad Ali Al-Jabal Cultural Center explained that their participation in the exhibition today included presenting children's magazines to develop and enhance the imagination and talents of these children and expand their mental awareness.
Aziza Al-Masry, head of the Life Association for the Care of the Handicapped, said in a statement to SANA reporter that today's activity aims to shed light on the creative side of children gifted with drawing, pointing out that an exhibition of handicrafts will be held next Thursday for the older age group.
A number of children's parents expressed their satisfaction with every step that helps them to show and develop their children's abilities, in addition to other social activities that provide them with information and educational guidelines to increase their experience in how to deal with their children.
On December 3 of each year, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities is celebrated.
