Method for cleaning the microwave (carolina.mccauley)

Is it possible that you, too, cleaning patients like yourself, miss dirty places in the kitchen?

Cleaning expert Diane Dimitrov, CEO of Laundryheap, claims that there are six areas and utensils in the kitchen that you forget or do not bother to clean and they may contain bacteria that are very harmful to your health. Examine yourself: How many of them did you forget to clean?

Shelf of spices and sauces

While your spice rack may look eye-catching, it accumulates dust, spicy spills and sauces.

Dimitrov told the Daily Star: "Give your spice storage area a thorough cleaning with a damp cloth every few weeks to ensure that the dirt and bacteria do not settle there."

Also, make sure that the shelf is completely dry before putting the spices back in place.

The crumb tray in the toaster

If there are visible crumbs inside your toaster - it's time to throw them away, says Dimitrov.

He explained: "Be sure to unplug the toaster first (with dry hands!) Then remove the crumb tray and empty it over a sink or tin. Use a dry toothbrush to clean the inside of the toaster and around it and remove all the large crumbs. Rinse the crumb tray well with liquid "Tools to get rid of sticky stains. When the tray is completely dry, put it back inside and shake the toaster well over a tin or sink to ensure that no unnecessary crumbs are left there."

Wooden utensils

We usually rinse our wooden spoons with water and put them in the dishwasher, but it turns out that it is not thorough enough.

Dimitrov explained that bacteria can develop in wooden vessels, especially in the small grooves after they come in direct contact with raw meat: "To avoid the spread of bacteria, the spoons should be regularly soaked in hydrogen peroxide solution before thorough rinsing."

You should create a diluted mixture by adding one teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide to two liters of water - and soak the spoons in it for a few minutes before rinsing as usual.

Gloves for the oven

The oven gloves may look clean on the outside, but on the inside they may contain bacteria, especially if there are tiny remnants of food left in them.

It is recommended to wash the gloves weekly (depending on the frequency of use) or wash by hand (depending on their cleaning instructions).

You can also soak your gloves in a solution that includes one tablespoon of baking soda and one tablespoon of washing liquid for 10 minutes and only then put in the machine.

kitchen towels

It may seem like something we would not forget, but it turns out that our heavy use of towels sometimes makes us forget that they also need washing - and quite often.

Besides, many of us tend to use the same towel for hand drying both for dishwashing and for cleaning dirty surfaces, which is serious.

It is advisable to have 3 separate towels: one for hands, another for dishes and a third for cleaning surfaces.

This mixing may lead to the formation of bacteria and their passage to your skin or other eating utensils.

Wash towels every few days at 40 degrees to disinfect them properly.

Apron

It's easy for us to forget about it, but the apron we usually wear during the cooking and baking stages in the kitchen absorbs fragments of bacteria-infested food - especially if it comes with a front pocket.

It is important to remember to wash the apron after each number of wearables.

It is also recommended to soak it in a solution of water and vinegar for 15 minutes before washing.

After washing, ventilate it in a well-ventilated area to prevent moisture from spreading.
