Former Republican senator and presidential candidate Bob Dole died this Sunday morning, according to a statement issued by his family.
"Senator Robert Joseph Dole passed away this morning in his sleep. Until his death, at the age of 98, he had faithfully served the United States of America for 79 years," the statement said.
