Turkish media reported that the President of the Turkish regime, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, was subjected to an assassination attempt while he was in a gathering in the southeastern state of Sirte.
Today, the Anatolia News Agency, the spokeswoman for this regime, said that a bomb planted in the car of a police officer who was charged with participating in securing Erdogan's visit to the southeastern state of Siirt, which was planned to be detonated at a speech festival by Erdogan in the same state, was defused.
She indicated that investigations are underway to uncover the circumstances of the accident.
It is noteworthy that Erdogan was subjected to a coup attempt in mid-July 2016, and since that time Erdogan launched campaigns of repression against his opponents in various Turkish cities and regions, after which thousands of people, both civilians and military, were arrested, as well as the dismissal or suspension of work about 150,000 workers in the government, the army, the judiciary and education and other institutions.
