Benjamin Zeevi, the son of the late Rehavam is one of the defendants in the affair • "I did not murder anyone, the end of the truth to be revealed"

Benjamin Zeevi, the son of former Minister Rehavam Zeevi, is one of the defendants in the case of the abduction and murder of the boy Nissim Sheetrit from 35 years ago.

His name was allowed to be published today (Sunday) following the request of "Israel Today" and the "Broadcasting Corporation" from the court.

"Mr. Zeevi denies the suspicions against him, stands by his cuff and says: 'I did not murder anyone, the end of the truth is revealed,'" his lawyer Slava Rodenko said, adding: "Mr. Zeevi left the Shuvu Banim community many years ago and since his departure he has been persecuted until Anyone who attended the detention extensions hearings and read the indictment knows that the suspicions against Mr. Zeevi are based on the single testimony of one of the community members, Baruch Sharvit, who was instructed by the community members about a month ago, at the same famous meeting at the detention center. In court, the investigation file is fraught with difficulties and raises major question marks, including the truth of the statements and intentions of the single witness. "

Finally, he emphasized again, "Mr. Zeevi stands by his innocence and denies any connection to the offense attributed to him. After receiving the investigation material and studying, Mr. Zeevi will fight with all his might for his innocence and good name in court and there he hopes justice is served."

As you may recall, on Friday, indictments were filed for murder offenses against Zeevi and Baruch Sharvit.

According to the indictment, the two were part of the "Shuvu Banim" community and as stated participated in the abduction and murder of Sheetrit, after it was alleged that he was associating with the young women of the community.

The indictment states that Sheetrit was lured to an apartment in the Ramot neighborhood, where Zeevi and Sharvit and other people were waiting for him, beat him vigorously, forced him and took him to the Eshtaol Forest, where he was beaten until he died and then buried nearby.

His body has not been found to date.

In this case and in the case of the murder of Avi Edri in 1990, ten suspects were arrested by the central unit of the Jerusalem Police, including Sharvit and Edri.

All the rest were released last week due to the statute of limitations.
