National Team Visits Hong Kong | The Hong Kong Association and Olympic Committee hosted a luncheon and sent off to the Mainland after quarantine and revisited Macau in the middle of the month

A total of 29 athletes and 3 coaches accompanied the national team athletes in a whirlwind visit to Hong Kong on the 3rd. During this period, they participated in a series of exchanges, performances and sharing activities, and met up close with the citizens of Hong Kong. The delegation attended the Hong Kong Association and Hong Kong Association this (5th) afternoon


A total of 29 athletes and 3 coaches accompanied the national team athletes in a whirlwind visit to Hong Kong on the 3rd. During this period, they participated in a series of exchanges, performances and sharing activities, and met up close with the citizens of Hong Kong.

After attending the farewell luncheon hosted by the Hong Kong Association and Olympic Committee this (5th) afternoon, the delegation left Hong Kong and returned to the Mainland.

After 14 days of quarantine in the Mainland, the delegation will travel from Zhuhai to Macau via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge on the 19th of this month for a three-day visit.

Today is the last day of the delegation’s visit to Hong Kong. The Olympic athletes will continue to participate in various activities, including attending a sharing session at PolyU, including 100-meter flying athlete Su Bingtian, table tennis gold medalist Ma Long, etc. There are also national team members performing skills. The attending members included men's ring gold medal Liu Yang and men's parallel bars gold medal Zou Jingyuan.

The delegation attended the farewell luncheon hosted by the Hong Kong Sports Association and Olympic Committee of China in the afternoon. The guests at the luncheon included Chief Executive Carrie Lam, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office Lu Xinning, Hong Kong Association and Olympic Committee Chairman Huo Zhenting, and Deputy General Administration of Sports of China. Yang Ning, Director and Head of the Delegation, Liu Guangyuan, Commissioner of the Office of Special Commissioners of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Xu Yingwei, Director of the Civil Affairs Bureau.

In his speech, Timothy Fok pointed out that due to the epidemic, Hong Kong citizens have not been able to get close to visiting athletes as they did in the past, but I believe the delegation will definitely feel the enthusiasm and support of Hong Kong citizens.

He also hoped that in the future, Hong Kong could have closer ties with the Mainland in sports, promote the development of elite sports, and jointly strive for better results in the international sports arena.



The delegation will return to the mainland after its 3-day trip to Hong Kong. After 14 days of quarantine, the delegation members will travel from Zhuhai to Macau via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge on the 19th of this month for a 3-day visit.

Athletes of the national team will travel to Macau from 19th to 21st of this month.
