Putting a new production line into service in Basnada Automatic Bakery

The branch of the Syrian Foundation for Bakeries in Lattakia today put a new production line in Basnada bakery into service after the completion of its preparation work in cooperation with the International Organization of the Red Cross, bringing the production capacity of the bakery to 26 tons per day.

The director of the institution's branch, Eng. Tammam Michael, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the new line, with a production capacity of 13 tons, is currently working on a trial basis. We submitted a request to the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection to increase the bakery’s allocations of flour and put it fully in service.

Michael pointed out that work is currently underway to replace 5 other production lines in the bakeries of Damsarkho, Al Raml Al Shamali and Al Basil in the Saliba project, and they will be put into service before the end of this year, with maintenance of other lines within these bakeries that will increase production capacity and improve the quality of the produced bread.

He pointed out that the implementation rate of replacing two lines in the automatic bakery of Demsarkho reached about 90 percent, in parallel with civil maintenance work in the bakery, including ceramics for walls, tanks, and electrical installations. The process of replacing the line at Al-Basel Bakery, in coordination with the Patriarchate of Antioch and all the East, with integrated civil works in the bakery.

He explained that the new lines have a role in improving the quality of the loaf and ensuring an abundance of productivity to meet the needs of the people at early times and relieve pressure on the production lines that are currently operating at maximum capacity and enable the branch to carry out periodic maintenance.

The bakery branch in Latakia includes 18 bakeries in the governorate, 11 of which are automatic bakeries and 7 bakeries operate under the supervision system, according to Michael, who confirmed the work to increase the branch’s sales outlets with the development of new lines of service and the ability to meet its needs at early times instead of waiting for long hours to supply it with the material.
