The activities of the 32nd Sub-Youth Youth Theater Festival, organized by the Revolutionary Youth Union branch in Aleppo, in cooperation with the Directorate of Theaters and Music, “Aleppo National Theatre,” were launched on the stage of the National Library in Aleppo.

The festival began with the presentation of the play “Mono Drama Controversy” by the Jules Gamal Association, written and directed by Hossam Kharboutli.

In a statement to SANA’s reporter, the head of the festival’s Supreme Committee, Abdel Moneim Riyad Al-Mustafa, stressed the importance of these works as they contribute to investing the energies of young people, indicating that the festival contributes to strengthening the theater culture among the Syrian youth generation and highlighting their energies, artistic initiatives and talents by supporting youth experiences in the field of arts and culture and placing them in a climate of creativity and exchange. Ideas especially issues of youth and the future.

Mohamed Nyal, head of the Youth Union branch in Aleppo, pointed out the importance of the festival in discovering artists at the level of Aleppo, pointing out that the festival will continue until the 12th of December, and it presents 7 kindergartens, and the winner will be announced at the closing ceremony for the work that will participate in the central theater festival.

While Muhammad Hijazi, director of the National Library, director of the National Theater in Aleppo and director of the festival, considered that despite the failure of the festival during the last period, it rose again in its current version with seven theatrical works for young people who will present a lofty and noble message on the stage of the National Library in addition to the beautiful space for these young people To express their opinions and ideas through theatrical works.

Actor Bhagat Kikhia talked about his role in the play as he embodies a character with Down syndrome and how he sees life from his personal perspective.

As for Hussam Kharboutli, the author and director of the work, he stressed that its purpose is to present a humanitarian message in the first place, as it is talking about a person with Down syndrome.
