Four months after the exposure of "Israel Today":
Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz and Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman today (Sunday) agreed on an operating permit for a surgical robot, which was placed at the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya and was not activated due to lack of funding.
The robot called "Da Vinci" is an advanced medical device that allows surgeons to perform delicate surgeries while reducing the potential for complications.
There are 11 robots of this type in Israel.
Data received by MK Ofir Katz from the Ministry of Health show that seven of the devices are in the center, two in Jerusalem, in the entire northern region there is only one device at Rambam Hospital, and in the entire southern region there is one device in Soroka in Be'er Sheva.
The ministers' decision is part of a process currently underway in the Ministries of Health and Finance, in collaboration with the Knesset Health Committee headed by MK Idit Silman, to increase the deployment of advanced medical equipment in Israel's health system.
At the end of October, we reported that the Ministry of Health would approve the operation of the robot, after a conversation between Minister Nitzan Horowitz and MK Yael Ron Ben Moshe. Activation of the device.
