ANKARA, SANA-

The US State Department accused the Turkish regime of engaging in deliberate behavior and rhetoric that would lead to a hostile political environment for religious minorities.

The Turkish newspaper, Zaman, quoted an annual report of the US State Department, which monitors the practices of countries in the field of religious freedom, as saying that “the Turkish government has engaged in behaviors, deliberate inaction and rhetoric that would lead to the creation of a political environment hostile to the religious minority, as it continues to tolerate hate speech and acts of violence.” .

The report described the human rights action plan announced by the Turkish regime last March as a “missed opportunity,” noting that the Turkish government has become increasingly repressive since the attempted coup in July 2016, when 292,000 people were arrested for allegedly being linked to the dissident residing in the United States. Fethullah Gulen.
