There was not enough snow for his "real" sledge - so St. Nicholas came to Hohenkammer in a sledge pulled by two horses and with tires.
Hohenkammer
- On Saturday, the holy guest toured the residential area around the sports facilities, which was the creative Corona substitute for the children and young people's Christmas party.
In the past few weeks, the various Christmas parties of the major sports club have been canceled, but overall youth leader Nicole Maritz did not want to leave it like that.
It was planned to offer something to children and adolescents even in times of pandemic, and various concepts were tinkered with.
So Maritz came up with the idea of a little St. Nicholas round trip through Hohenkammer.
“Doing nothing was not an alternative,” says the committed youth leader.
(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
The families waited in small groups in front of the houses and made themselves comfortable despite the drizzle.
Nicholas was greeted with decorated property and sometimes Christmas music.
Leading actor Claus Kreitmaier had fun with his slightly different appearance this time.
Not only did Nikolaus know his way around Hohenkammer, the horses in front of his sleigh were also familiar with the area.
Because: The Lucky Horse Ranch from Hohenkammer provided the means of transport for St. Nicholas.
200 "cute" bags and one ticket each for the raffle
Ultimately, no children went back to the warmth empty-handed.
Youth leader Nicole Maritz and her helpers distributed 200 pencil cases with a sweet content and a ticket for the raffle, with which club boss Fred Kopp was waiting in the sports center.
The Corona replacement version of the Christmas party was very well received by the families, but the drive through the residential area between the sports field and the church should still remain a unique event.
For next year, Nicole Maritz would like the classic Christmas celebrations in the sports center back with a colorful program, good food and a Santa Claus who no longer has to freeze.
On Sunday the Lucky Horse Ranch sled was on its way a second time
This weekend the children in Hohenkammer were literally followed by St. Nicholas.
On Sunday, the Lucky Horse Ranch sled was on its way a second time - and during Advent on the Wies, the holy guest visited the children again.
This once again confirmed that it is very pleasant for young families to have Hohenkammer as their home town.
