Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune revealed that Algeria will host an expanded meeting of Palestinian factions in the capital, Algiers, soon.
Tebboune said during a press conference with his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas today, "Within the framework of Algeria's efforts to strengthen the Palestinian ranks by achieving Palestinian unity, we obtained the approval of the Palestinian president to gather all the Palestinian parties in Algeria as soon as possible."
Tebboune expressed his hope that the meeting will be a prelude to Arab unity that Algeria aspires to through the Arab summit, which it intends to host next March.
Tebboune reiterated that Algeria seeks not to perpetuate the principle of perpetuating Arab divisions and schisms, expressing his hope that the Algeria summit will be unified for the Arab ranks, and at the top of its priorities is the Palestinian issue and all other issues.
Tebboune stressed the need for the Palestinian cause, which is the core of the conflict in the Middle East, to be the mother of the issues, stressing that security will not be established in the Middle East without the establishment of a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital.
