Tahanun Ben-Zayed al-Nahian, the UAE's national security adviser, paid his first visit to Tehran in years • The visit has caused concern in Jerusalem, despite the fact that Iran and the UAE have had ties for years

Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi met today (Monday) with Sheikh Tahanun bin Zayed al-Nahian, the UAE's national security adviser.

The sheikh, who is visiting Iran at the head of a senior delegation, met earlier with Iranian Admiral Ali Shimkhani, who serves as national security adviser.

Diplomatic Advisor of the President of the United Arab Emirates, Dr Anwar Grgas, said earlier that the visit of Thnon Bin Zayed Tehran was a continuation of the efforts of the UAE which seeks to strengthen ties and cooperation in the region, which serves its national interest.

According to Gargarsh, the Arab Federation strives to establish the stability and prosperity of the region through the development of positive relations through dialogue and reliance on the common.

Israel has recently expressed concern about the warming of ties with the Emirates in the wake of talks in Vienna on the nuclear deal.

It should be noted, however, that the UAE has maintained relations with Iran for many years.
