Arabic calligraphy and painting is the main file for the new issue of the Fine Art quarterly magazine, issued by the Directorate of Fine Arts at the Ministry of Culture, in addition to other files about the second season of the Fine Art Days and artist teacher Elias Al-Zayat.

The issue, whose cover was decorated with a painting by the artist Al-Zayyat, reviewed in its editorial Saad Al-Qassem, editor-in-chief of the magazine, what was filled with the new plastic life of studies and interviews about artistic modernity and a number of its figures in Syria and other issues.

In the issue, we read several articles about calligraphy, where the plastic artist Jamal Al-Abbas wrote about the Arabic letter in the formations of fine arts, and addressed the calligrapher and artist Jamal Bustan in his study of calligraphy and plastic art, and treated the calligrapher and graphic designer Munir Al-Shaarani in his article on craft between tradition and creativity.

The double issue 121-122 included an article entitled Transformations of Modern Plastic Art.. Rebellions and Improvisations by the late artist Dr. Abdul Karim Farag, in which he presented the developments in formation since the classical stage.

Maysa Awaida wrote about the path of plastic artist Elias Al-Zayat and his works as one of the most prominent names of Syrian formation that contributed to creating modernity in the art of Syrian photography by combining identity and modernity at the same time and reviving the aesthetic Syrian cultural spirit.

The issue also included an interview conducted by the critic Ammar Hassan with the artist Ismail Nasra, who still feels after his four decades of artistic experience that he has just started because the state of love he feels with art makes him feel that he is starting over every day.

In the issue, we find articles celebrating the late great artists, including George Maher, whose goal was modern art formation and took the painting out of the usual patterns that were consumed, and from an early age possessed a distinctive personal style with its influence on German Expressionism.

The old papers page republishes an article by Dr. Salim Adel Abdel Haq about the first annual exhibition, which he published in 1951.

The magazine highlighted recent art events, including sculpture forums, plastic exhibitions such as fall, spring and winter 2020 exhibitions, and exhibitions of the National Center for Visual Arts.
