The 57-year-old woman admitted on Monday to having stabbed her husband, identified during the autopsy as the cause of death. She said "to
have quarreled with him, to have received at least one punch and to have answered it in this way
", told AFP the public prosecutor of Reims Matthieu Bourrette.
However, she said "she
did not intend to kill him,
" said the prosecutor, referring to a dispute over alcohol.
The body of this 47-year-old homeless man was discovered on Saturday morning by the emergency services, warned by his partner, in a squat located in the old disused barracks in the Chanzy district, where the couple lived.
The indictment had been placed in police custody, and the prosecutor's office of Châlons-en-Champagne had relinquished the case on Saturday evening in favor of that of Reims, competent in criminal matters.
