Today, the Ministry of Tourism, the Damascus Tourism Directorate, organized a tour for the children of Dar Al-Rahma to take care of orphans in the Autumn Flowers Exhibition 2021, which is being held by the Ministry in cooperation with the Ministries of Agriculture, Agrarian Reform and Culture in Khan Asaad Pasha.

During the tour, the children were shown the types of flowers and plants in the exhibition and the products extracted and manufactured from them, such as perfumes and soap, and learned how to make them manually, in addition to listening to stories about the history of the Khan, the Damascene houses, the Damascene rose, and the ways of taking care of it.

Marwa Al-Bunni, supervisor of Dar Al-Rahma, stated in a statement to the representative of SANA that the aim of the tour is to inform the children about the heritage of their country, introduce them to it, teach them everything new in the field of plants and what is made of them, in addition to developing and strengthening their environmental awareness.

Maysa Dahman, a member of the Businesswomen’s Committee in the Damascus Chamber of Industry, indicated that she supervised the introduction of children to the components of soap and the method of making it from herbs and natural materials, pointing out that the exhibition is an opportunity to give children a love of manual work and develop their creativity and learn professions in addition to their educational attainment to be active in Creating their own future and the future of their country.

In turn, the storyteller Anwar Bakir stated that his participation in the exhibition aims to introduce the Damascene heritage through stories and tales for children through the Fund of the World through drawings and shadow imaginations that talk about the environment and the need to preserve it and promote human values ​​in souls, while making sure that the end of the stories is happy to spread joy in hearts children.

The children, Dala’ Zaidan, Bayan Nour El-Din and Lama Al-Lahham, expressed their happiness at visiting the Khan and the exhibition and learning about the ancient history of Damascus, in addition to learning how to make soap in different forms and learning about new types of flowers and plants.

The activities of the Autumn Flowers Exhibition 2021, in which about 18 producers from different governorates are participating, will continue until the 12th of this month, and include a display of autumn flowering plants, medicinal and aromatic plants and their products, an educational entertainment day for children, in addition to specialized seminars and workshops.
