Covid-19: no, the travel certificate has not returned to TousAntiCovid

The TousAntiCovid application, used daily by many French people to present their health pass when going to a restaurant or to the cinema, will it soon be used again to show their travel certificate in the event of a curfew or even confinement?

This is what some Internet users have understood in recent days.

"On the last update, they added the

Travel certificate

option

: Curfew and confinement for the regions concerned,

" one of them said.

According to several local press articles published on Monday, the “travel certificate” block would indeed have been “added” recently on TousAntiCovid.

What to predict a return of the curfew in France, while the government claims to want to avoid such a shock measure - despite the outbreak of the epidemic - without excluding it?

The Ministry of Health and the Secretary of State for Digital, contacted by Le Parisien, deny any change.

The “certificates” block has always been present and accessible.

We saw this by downloading an older version of the app, and it was in a screenshot posted on Twitter on November 9.

The reason ?

In recent months, several overseas territories have been hit by a very strong epidemic "wave".

They have thus imposed several restrictions including a curfew, requiring the presentation of a certificate in the event of a check in the street at the times concerned.

This was the case with Martinique, Guadeloupe and Guyana, for example.

Curfew lifted in Guyana

“As there is no geolocation in TousAntiCovid, travel certificates appear for all users of the application but were addressed to overseas territories,” says Cédric O's firm, the Secretary of State for Digital.

This source also denies any highlighting of this section during an update.

"The block of certificates has not been reassembled in the application, it is still stuck there", insists an adviser.

All our interlocutors thus deny the rumor according to which this would augur an imminent turn of the screw everywhere in France.

The curfew was lifted in Guyana on January 29, while the one still in force in certain municipalities of Guadeloupe and Martinique was decided for something other than the health situation linked to Covid-19 and the overloading of hospitals.

Violent demonstrations, initially aimed at protesting against the vaccine obligation but which extended to multiple demands such as the cost of living, broke out in these two territories.

The decree on which TousAntiCovid is based being based on "the general measures necessary for the management of the exit from a health crisis", it is a priori not possible to use the application to generate an exit certificate currently in Martinique or in Guadeloupe.
