Police officers and the SPCA arrived at the scene and found that a total of 13 bird carcasses and 3 white pigeons were found in the vicinity of the site. They were suspected of being unwell. Someone was suspected of continuing to abuse the pigeons.
This is the second consecutive day that a large number of white pigeon corpses have appeared in Fu Heng Village. A total of 31 corpses have been sent for testing to determine the cause of death.
The police temporarily classified the case as cruel treatment of animals. It is suspected that the white pigeons had been treated inappropriately. They were temporarily sent to the 12th Team of the Criminal Investigation Team of the Tai Po Police District for follow-up. No one has been arrested yet.
The carcasses of these birds, including the carcasses of 13 pigeons and 1 sparrow, were seized by SPCA staff. They will be transferred to the Fisheries and Conservation Department's Dalong Laboratory later.
Some residents of Fu Heng Village think that there are too many white pigeons nearby, causing nuisance.
