AIR@InnoHK's Hong Kong Logistics Robotics Research Center, Medical Robot Innovation Technology Center, and Bozhi Perception Interactive Research Center, as well as the Innovative Diagnostic Technology Center, Hong Kong Microbial Flora Innovation Center and Neuromusculoskeletal Regenerative Medicine Center in Health@InnoHK are finally official Entering the Science Park, the media was invited to visit the first three centers today (6th).
Different surgical robot platforms
The positioning of the medical robot innovation technology center laboratory is to realize the new surgical robot technology through the development of an intracavitary multi-scale robotic platform for diagnosis and treatment, a magnetically guided intracavitary robotic platform, and an image-guided robotic interventional treatment. Translational research and commercialization.
The center’s hybrid operating room is equipped with magnetic resonance scanning and robotic-assisted C-arm and radiography (Artis Zeego) instruments, which can provide real-time intraoperative medical imaging during the development of surgical robotic interventional therapy.

Combine the two instruments at the same time
Ou Guowei, director of the Medical Robot Innovation Technology Center, explained that the current discovery of the body requires an MRI and then an X-ray examination. However, the center can provide two services at the same time to instantly know whether the accuracy is high or low.
This equipment is specially designed for the research and development of new surgical robots and medical equipment, and conducts pre-clinical evaluation through experiments on live animals and cadavers.
Ou added that many related institutions and companies do not have their own R&D laboratories, because they have no chance to do animal research, which slows down the research progress in disguise.
The Medical Robot Innovation Technology Center will start research on cadavers in the first quarter of next year.

Zhao Weiren, director of the Medical Robot Innovation Technology Center, said that there is a cycle in the operation of the center. When doctors encounter problems and difficulties in clinical practice, mechanical engineers will respond with answers, but the doctors need to confirm whether the answers are correct.
The confirmed places include the Prince of Wales Hospital and the Chinese University Hospital.
The center is currently developing nano and centimeter robots. In the future, it hopes to be able to complete the operation without incising the patient.
