The branch of the General Organization for Seed Multiplication in Daraa has sold 3,000 tons of sifted and sterilized wheat seed to farmers since the start of the selling season last month to date.
The head of the Marketing Department in the Foundation branch, Eng. Mofeed Al-Farwan, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the sifting center of the Seed Multiplication Branch works for seven months to secure the sifted and sterilized wheat for farmers, and the daily sifting capacity ranges between 100 and 120 tons per day.
He added that the institution's branch has a sufficient balance of raw and sifted wheat, and it is sold to agricultural associations collectively and to individuals in accordance with the agricultural regulation document.
Last season, the Daraa seed multiplication branch sold more than 10,000 tons of sifted and sterilized wheat seed.
