An earthquake was registered this Sunday at 6:20 pm (local time) in the Mexican state of Oaxaca, without any damage being reported at the moment, local authorities reported.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS, for its acronym in English) said the quake had a magnitude of 5.0 and was registered about 12 kilometers northwest of San Pedro Huamelula.
For its part, the State Coordination of Civil Protection of Oaxaca said that at the moment no damage was reported but that "it remains on alert and constantly monitored."
