Following the cartel wars: Hundreds of armed fighters deployed in Cancun Israel today

The golden beaches of Cancun, Mexico, are famous all over the world, and every year about 20 million tourists come to the peninsula.

The many guests who usually come to the picturesque beaches of the town of Cancun in Mexico enjoy blue and quiet water, sun, great music and good food.

But recently they have also enjoyed the close security of 1,500 armed and masked fighters, who aim to prevent crime.

The Warriors, members of the National Guard, tour the beaches and resorts of the picturesque Yucatan Peninsula, one of the most sought after sites in the world.

The photos provided by the Reuters news agency show a rather surreal spectacle - warriors dressed in full, masked battle uniforms, walking in the golden sands by the sea, alongside tourists and tourists in minimal clothing, enjoying the comfortable temperatures.

Large forces moving in prominent military vehicles are also documented at key points at the various tourist sites.

The unusual military force has been in place since last Wednesday, after Mexican President Anders Manuel López Obrador made the unusual decision amid concerns that Mexican drug cartel wars are approaching the tourist area.

On October 20, a wave of armed cartel clashes broke out in the heart of Mexican paradise, killing two foreign tourists - one from the United States.

About 20 million people reach the golden shores of Cancun every year.

Meanwhile, tourism has not been harmed as a result of the violent power struggles among the drug barons in the country, but it can be assumed that in Mexico it is understood that it is only a matter of time if the situation does not improve.

The mayor of Benito Juarez, Maria Lazma, welcomed the decision: "This is a historic day in the field of crime prevention in the country."

On the other hand, (retired) Marshal Robert Almonta, who served as deputy chief of police for El Paso in the United States, believes that deploying military and armed force will not deter the cartels. "The National Guard will not really deter drug cartels.

"These are ruthless organizations, which are not afraid of the soldiers, and will continue to fight regardless of whether tourists are injured in the battles or not."
