From this coming Sunday and for an entire week, the code hour events will be held in Israel for the fourth time.
The events take place in Israel as part of a global project, in which hundreds of thousands of Israeli students will join millions of students from around the world and be exposed to one hour of programming and code writing
last year, over 200,000 children in Israel, from Kiryat Shmona to Eilat.
The theme that will be at the center of the activity this year is connections between code and computer science and the variety of subjects taught in the school.

The Hour of Code is a global initiative of Code.org, a non-profit organization that promotes the message that every boy and girl can learn to program and create using technology. Since the organization was launched in the U.S. in 2013, over 100 million children from 180 countries around the world have participated in the code hour events.
This year the code hour will be marked by connections between computer science and a variety of fields and professions, connections that can start already in the school system. Not everyone needs to be a programmer, but the ability to be creative and not just use technology is also important for those who want to engage in agriculture, medicine, law, architecture or music.
Wix, a leader in the Code Hour initiative in Israel, also launched a new design this year for the Code Hour Israel website, which centers activities and games for learning programming with the approval and supervision of the Ministry of Education. Through the activities and the detailed guide to event organizers on site, educators and parents from all over the country can easily organize code-time events in middle school or elementary school, art class or math class, youth movement or a community center class.
In addition, a film was launched this year starring Uriel Tsabari and children Eden and Ben, who teach Uriel to write code for the first time in his life and help him discover that programming is fun and that in code time everything can be done - from saving the ocean from pollution to a dance party with cats and sloths. In preparation for the activity week, new activities are expected to be uploaded to the site that combine computer science and English, the environment and other subjects taught at the school.
