The Kai Tak Avenue Park and Station Plaza Phase I, which residents in Kai Tak have been waiting for for many years, will be officially opened tomorrow (7th). In the future, residents in the vicinity will be able to travel to and from Kai Tak Station and enjoy the park’s facilities through public passages.

When the district councillor pointed out that the public was excited about the upcoming opening of Kai Tak Avenue Park, and there was a pet inclusive space within the station plaza, describing the park and plaza as convenient for residents.

The station plaza is located on the north apron of the old Kai Tak Airport. It covers an area of about 12 hectares. It surrounds Kai Tak Station and connects adjacent development projects, including multiple residential and commercial land, open space and Kai Tak Sports Park.

There are many recreational facilities in the station square, including bowls greens, cycling tracks, and pet parks.

The project cost 1.651.5 billion yuan and was divided into two phases.

The station plaza that will open tomorrow is the first phase, and the second phase has no opening date for the time being.

Kowloon City District Councillor Cheung King-hun said that residents are excited about the upcoming opening of Kai Tak Avenue Park and Station Concourse Phase I.

He believes that public passages will help residents of Kai Ching Village and Tak Long Village to travel to and from Kai Tak Station. The park and square are beautifully surrounded by recreational facilities such as walking trails, small hills for children and basketball courts.

Except for the basketball court, which is open from 7 to 11, all facilities are open 24 hours. After Zhang Jingxun expects the opening of Kai Tak Avenue Park, many parents will be attracted to take their children to play.

The first phase of the station plaza will carry out a six-month trial program of a pet inclusive park. Owners can bring pets to visit, but pets in the area need to be leashed, but the inclusive range does not include the nearby Kai Tak Avenue Park.

Zhang Jingxun pointed out that during the first phase of the station plaza, a dog feces box was installed, but there are currently no other animal facilities, and related facilities may be gradually installed after the trial plan is over.

He believes that the pet inclusive park can be convenient for owners and can reduce the impact on residents due to hygiene and noise.

As for the second station plaza, Zhang Jingxun said that the opening date is not yet known, but the small roads and bridges have been opened for nearby residents to travel to and from Kai Tak Station.
