The prosecution filed today (Monday) an indictment against Edward Katzura for the aggravated murder of the girl Yael Melnik about two months ago. Katzura was a brother in the psychiatric hospital where Melnik was hospitalized, and the indictment unfolds a "relationship," during which Katzura exploits Melnik's dependence on him and her faith, until she finally voluntarily enters a pit the two dug together, breathing through a tube. But then, according to the indictment, Katzura took the pipe out of her mouth and caused her death "with special cruelty."
The indictment states that Katzura knew Yael when she was hospitalized at Ma'ale HaCarmel Hospital, from the beginning of January and for two and a half months, when she was in an "unstable" emotional and behavioral state. After confessing to him that she had developed feelings for him, Katzura told her that he too had developed feelings for her and asked her about her sexual experience, while taking advantage of her dependence on him.
After returning to her grandmother's house, the two began to meet and from the beginning of April they even had a "relationship" that included illicit sex on his part, while Katzura exploited the girl.
After she began to be absent for periods from her home and to be with Katzura for long hours, the Magistrate's Court in Hadera forbade him to contact her, at her grandmother's request.

Despite this, he continued briefly to meet Melnik frequently. At the end of September, they quarreled, and a few days before the murder, the welfare authorities transferred her to the "Eden" boarding school in Kibbutz Karmia, with her consent, after she was defined as at risk, among other things due to her connection with Katzura. However, in early October, when she went on vacation, she asked her to come to his house, and he agreed to it, despite the order forbidding him to meet with her.
The indictment states that her grandmother reported her absence and in the evening, police arrived at Katzura's house in Kiryat Motzkin to locate her. Except that it did not open the door and the policemen left the place. Immediately afterwards, the two left his apartment for fear that the police would return to it. They began to roam the camps in order to evade the police, and until the morning hours the two talked about her mental distress.
In the morning they started digging a kind of grave so that Melnick could get into it so she could breathe even after a reaper covered it.
After an excavation attempt at a local park failed, the two went to the construction site.
There, managed to dig a "grave" in the third attempt.
This, when all the while, according to the indictment, Katzur was aware of Melnik's mental distress.

After digging the pit, he placed a bamboo and styrofoam net in it, and later brought a pipe that was at the construction site.
So, the girl went into the "grave" "while she trusted him" and inserted the tube into her mouth so she could breathe.
"After an actual weighing procedure, Katzura formulated a decision to kill Melnik, and with intent to cause her death, fully covered her body and face with sand and gravel while she was alive, using one of the excavation shafts," the serious indictment said.
"Then, he took the tube out of her mouth, and for several minutes prevented her from breathing and coming out of the grave, thus causing her death. He then left the place."
