The Tripoli Appeals Court rejected the appeal ruling against presidential candidate Khalifa Haftar and returned him to the presidential race.
Gateway Al-Wasat website stated that the Court of Appeal rejected the appeal ruling issued against Haftar by the First Instance Court of Al-Zawiya due to its lack of spatial jurisdiction to consider the case.
The former Libyan army commander, Khalifa Haftar, announced last month that he had submitted papers as a candidacy for the presidential elections in Libya to the High Electoral Commission at its headquarters in the city of Benghazi, but the Zawiya Court issued a ruling excluding him after accepting the appeal against him.
The presidential elections in Libya are scheduled to be held in two rounds, the first starting on the 24th of next December, and the second with the parliamentary elections 52 days after the first round.
