Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian stressed that the relations between Syria and Iran are strategic and distinct.
Abdullahian said during a press conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Miqdad, in Tehran that Iran rejects the US military presence on Syrian territory and stresses the necessity of the exit of these forces.
Abdullahian added: We discussed various bilateral issues, especially the development of economic relations between the two countries.
For his part, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, said: We had rich discussions on various issues, especially strengthening bilateral relations, adding that our two countries' relations are strategic and aim to build a promising future for the peoples of the region to live in security and peace far from any external interference.
Al-Miqdad indicated that the United States transferred thousands of terrorists from Syria to Afghanistan.
