Petra Justenhoven prevails
against
Ulrich Störk
and becomes the new German head of PwC.
Justenhoven, who was previously responsible for the attestation business on the PwC board, received 51 percent of the votes at a virtual meeting of the German partners.
49 percent of the partners voted for Störk.
Manager magazin learned this from company circles.
The change is to be announced tomorrow during the day at the annual balance sheet press conference.
The trained auditor Justenhoven surprisingly announced her candidacy at a board meeting in early September. According to the PwC statutes, incumbent Störk had to stand for re-election after four years. Störk secured the support of the previous board team. Justenhoven had to find her team from among the partners. In doing so, she relied on the displeasure of many auditors and consultants, who accused Störk of falling far short of his election promises of four years ago when he surprisingly prevailed against the declared favorite of long-time PwC boss and current Bayer supervisory board chairman
Norbert Winkeljohann
.
The election result reveals a partnership split into two almost equally large situations.
PwC insiders speak of an intense and comparatively confrontational election campaign between the two competitors and now fear the departure of numerous partners from the Störk camp in the coming months.
