Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani discussed with Emirati National Security Adviser Tahnoun bin Zayed in Tehran today bilateral relations and issues of common interest.

During his meeting with bin Zayed and his accompanying delegation, Shamkhani stressed that "sustainable security and stability will only be available through cooperation between the countries of the region," stressing that the visit of the Emirati delegation is a new page in relations and paves the way for strengthening and developing bilateral relations in all fields.

Shamkhani stressed the need for dialogue and understanding to replace military approaches to resolve differences.

Shamkhani added that the countries of the region can provide development and prosperity to their people through cooperation and play an important role as an energy pole, stressing that friendly relations with neighbors and the exchange of economic, trade and investment energies are a priority in his country's foreign policy.

For his part, UAE National Security Adviser bin Zayed said that developing and strengthening relations with Iran is a priority for his country, stressing the need to form specialized working groups to collect accurate data in various fields of bilateral economic cooperation.
