The mess around the play "Allah Karim", which will be staged at the Habima Theater as part of an Israeli play festival, continues.
After Uri Paster, the playwright who was also supposed to direct it, was replaced by another director a week after rehearsals began, now the lead actress, Gili Itzkovich, has also been replaced two weeks before the premiere.
Itzkovich, who starred in the series "Blackspace" on Network 13 and in the series "Baby Bull in the Middle" here 11, was selected for the role after long auditions.
Rehearsals for the show began with Uri Paster directing it, but it was soon replaced by director Lilach Segal, who is also the artistic director of Yoram Levinstein's acting studio.
Now, in an unusual move, two weeks before the production took the stage, Itzkovich ended her career in the play, and was replaced by actress Lior Cohen, a recent graduate of Yoram Levinstein's studio.
Director Lilach Segal stated that she "respects the actress Gili Itzkovich and wishes her success in her professional path."
