The junta sentenced Nobel Peace Prize winner Suu Kyi to four years in prison in Myanmar

Aung San Suu Kyi has been under house arrest in Myanmar since the military junta came to power. Now the Nobel Peace Prize laureate has been convicted - for alleged corona violations.

Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi has been under house arrest in Myanmar since February - she has now been sentenced to four years in prison.

The de facto head of government was arrested after a military coup and covered with a series of criminal charges.

Junta spokesman Zaw Min Tun said she was found guilty of inciting violence and violating corona requirements. Now she is due to go to prison for four years.
