After years of discussion on the salaries of MKs, the Knesset committee today (Monday) approved the establishment of a committee that will formulate recommendations regarding their salaries and conditions.
MK Osama Saadi, from the joint list, said at the hearing that the salaries of MKs and their aides should be raised: "I do not share 'Aliyah'. We work very hard, long hours."

We want good advisers, and for that we need to have a proper reward. "
The salaries of MKs, by the way, currently stand at about NIS 45,274 for ordinary MKs, about NIS 50,673 for the opposition chairman and NIS 56,345 for the Knesset speaker.
The chairman of the Knesset committee, MK Nir Orbach on the right, said that "we are very grateful to the committee members for joining this important work. This is an advisory committee, we will accept its recommendations and approve them in the committee." MK Boaz Toporovsky (Yesh Atid ) Called for "addressing the salaries of parliamentary assistants, and providing tools that match the current activities of Knesset members."
