One of the most important tasks of any small business is promotion. You may have an amazing idea and an equally amazing execution, but if no one hears about your business - what does all this help?

Of course every small business owner has different promotion methods, which suit both his character and the nature of the business. To get a closer look at the issue, we spoke with Tal Wolf, who founded Alba, a handmade bohemian wedding design business.

First, tell us about your business

"Alba was founded when I got engaged myself, at the height of the corona. I design textiles professionally so it was very important to me what design would be in my wedding. I am one of those crazy about weddings and I designed mine from a young age, long before he was a groom. In Australia or Europe, so I took inspiration from them, but when I searched in the country I did not find anything on a similar level and decided to create it myself. This is where the business was born. I saw that I love it so much, As a wedding designer. "

What sets the business apart?

"Everything is handmade. The wood with which I make the table arrangements are made especially for me in the north of the country and I make all the macrame items in my studio in Nahalat Binyamin. I do the handiwork of the macrame. "

What was the big challenge in promoting the business in the beginning and how did you deal with it?

"I did not know if and how the Israeli audience would connect to the idea of a bohemian wedding, which is entirely handmade and whether the added value it brings to the wedding in terms of atmosphere and uniqueness - will speak to the local audience. Uniquely, I conducted market surveys and tried to get to know my audience more closely. In addition, I took a special flight course on business management and marketing, an organic marketing course and a specific course on Instagram, because my business is visual and it is a great platform to reach customers. I also have a neat website that I built and includes a lot of information and pictures. "

And did it work?

"Definitely. After I started applying everything I learned on my Instagram page, most of the referrals to me were from brides who found me there. The rest came by word of mouth, through people I designed their weddings and told others, or people who were guests at the wedding I designed. Every wedding like this is very invested. And the responses accordingly. I was initially surprised by the amount of people who connected and knew how to appreciate the design and down to the smallest details. The design really puts the guests and of course the bride and groom in a special atmosphere and that's the most important thing to me. My".

What's the next step in promoting your business?

"Right now, after the wedding season is over, I am starting a re-examination of the promotion topic, to see what will be the right way to continue marketing Alba. It is still a new and boutique business, and I am checking if this is the right time to add online sponsored marketing. The business continues to grow and develop All the time, I work on a lot of new things and in this field too I will have to learn and grow accordingly. "

Are you satisfied with the path you have taken with the business in the entire field of marketing and promotion?

"Very. Knowledge is power and as I learned, I improved the promotion of the business, which is a critical issue of course. I got tools and used them and it works, but I still continue to learn more every day and get help from professionals who give me more tools to continue. It is very important to pay attention and invest in marketing And in building the visual language of the business, and constantly examining in which direction the business is progressing and where I need to get stronger and better.
