The government is betting on the return of certain barrier measures and a "super health pass" favoring people vaccinated since Monday, December 6 to preserve its end-of-year celebrations and continue to welcome tourists.
The country remains widely open to the French and accepts the AntiCovid application without any problem.
At the end of November, no Italian region was yet classified "at risk" because of its incidence rate, with the exception of the modest territory of Alto Adige (20 municipalities), in South Tyrol.

All travelers
including children
must complete the Locator Form (Passenger Locator Form digitali - dPLF) which must be completed on the online portal.
The paper form (downloadable in PDF) should only be used in the event of technical difficulty.
The obligation to test depends on the country of origin or residence in the 14 days preceding the trip to Italy (and not on the nationality of the traveler).

Travelers entering Italy from France (so-called "Elenco C" list available online) must:
Either present the negative result of a PCR or antigen test of less than 48 hours
(self-tests are not accepted);
Or present proof of complete vaccination
with a vaccine recognized by the European Medicines Agency (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson).
Proof of vaccination is only valid on the condition that it makes it possible to certify the completion of a complete vaccination schedule (14 days after the last injection and maximum 270 days).
The certificate must be presented in one of the 4 languages: Italian, English, French or Spanish;
Or present a certificate of cure
(valid from the 21st day after the first positive test and maximum 180 days);
The EU's digital Covid certificate incorporates
proof of vaccination, a negative test result or proof of recovery from Covid within 6 months
.

Italian certificates (Certificazione verde) and French (Health Pass via the AntiCovid application) are accepted because they meet common European standards.
Supporting documents can also be presented in hard copy.

From December 6, you will need a health pass proving vaccination or recovery from the Covid to sit down at the restaurant (here in Venice).

Since last year, a decree-law classifies Italian regions into four zones, according to the rate of circulation of the virus: red zone for maximum risk, orange for high risk, yellow for moderate risk and white for reduced risk. .
The placement of a region in one of the four categories is decided by the Minister of Health, taking into account many indicators.
Travelers are advised to check their status before any trip on the Italian government map as well as on the regional websites.

You can enjoy a

at the bar, have lunch on the terrace or dine inside.
No curfew is applied throughout the territory.
But to take advantage of it, the health pass is almost compulsory.
Until December 5, the French health pass for anyone aged 12 or over was required for travel by plane or train;
indoor restaurants;
museums or establishments or, again, hotels and accommodation.
The list of activities and places where these supporting documents will be requested is available on the website of the French Embassy in Italy.
This system was reinforced from December 6, for a period which will extend until January 15, 2022. A "super sanitary pass" is now required for certain activities: it only recognizes people who have received the first. dose for two weeks, those fully vaccinated or recently cured of the Covid.
Apart from these cases, a simple test will no longer suffice to go to a hotel, restaurant, museum or stadium.

Campania
, wearing a mask is compulsory outdoors, except in isolated places.
Sicily
: until December 31, 2021, people (including those with a health pass) arriving in Sicily from France will have to take the rapid test.
Please note: being vaccinated or having carried out a test before departure does not exempt from this obligation.
If it is positive, the passenger will be placed in isolation, then accompanied to a hotel or a Covid home to complete their quarantine.
In addition, some municipalities impose the wearing of a mask both outdoors and indoors, or prohibit gatherings in public spaces (more information on the Sicily region website).

The health situation in Italy
At the end of November, Italy deplored more than 133,000 deaths linked to Covid.
