Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zalansky said today (Monday) that his country is capable of repelling any Russian attack, in the shadow of its large concentration of forces at the border and fears of its military action in the coming weeks.
"Ukraine's armed forces continue to fulfill their most important mission - to protect the country's freedom and sovereignty from Russian aggressors," Zlansky said in a statement. "The Ukrainian army is confident in its strength and is capable of repelling all enemy plans of occupation."
His statement was made as Ukraine marked its Armed Forces Day, during which it introduced armored vehicles and patrol boats it had received from the United States. Tomorrow, US President Joe Biden, who promised "uncompromising" support in Kiev in the face of Moscow's threats, will talk to Russian President Vladimir Putin in hopes of resolving the crisis.
The Kremlin denies that it is preparing to invade a neighbor to the west, but warns that joining NATO is a "red line" for them.

Zalansky toured Kharkiv, eastern Ukraine during the day to mark the delivery of tanks, anti-tank vehicles and armored vehicles manufactured in the city's factories to the military. 14,000 people have been killed since the outbreak of war in 2014.
