Brakeman Stefan Aka was operated on last night (Sunday) at Hadassah Ein Kerem in the leg after a serious injury that occurred during a game last week.
The player injured his ankle during the game against Hapoel Jerusalem and turned to Hadassah Ein Kerem.
His surgeons, Prof. Meir Liebergel, head of the orthopedics department at Hadassah, and Prof. Yoram Weil, a senior surgeon in the orthopedic department, said that Aka suffered a complex ankle crisis, including a significant tear in the ligaments.
In the operation, which was successful, the fracture was repaired and the ligaments repaired, and Aka will be released to his home today for further recovery.
Later he is expected to begin rehabilitation and physiotherapy lasting several months.
