With knowledge and work... a young man from As-Suwayda overcomes his disability and establishes his own project

With the weapon of science and work, the young Hussam Turki Al-Asrawi from As-Suwayda governorate overcame the conditions of disability with his lower limbs that accompanied him since his childhood years to write his success story and present a model for a person who challenged his health conditions with his determination and determination to excel and leave a positive impact among the members of his community.

Hossam, 31 years old, told SANA reporter how he succeeded in encouraging his family to study at the primary level in his village of Al-Hwaya in the southeastern countryside of As-Suwayda, then continue his preparatory and secondary studies at Al-Amal Boarding School for the Disabled in Damascus, to study Sociology at the Faculty of Arts in As-Suwayda and graduate from it in 2018.

Hossam pointed out that his study of sociology came based on his desire to be the closest to him and to deal with society on a daily basis and in line with his always striving to analyze and address problems, as today he provides many advice to people in this context.

Hussam considers the certificate he obtained as a weapon in his hand and does not conflict with his orientation to work in the commercial field in which he grew up with his father, a trader of agricultural products.

Hossam indicated that with the support of his father and having experience working in a car workshop and lubricant previously, he created a shop in the industrial area in the city of As-Suwayda to sell batteries, mineral oils and auto parts, and was able to open a second branch in the city, where he works daily for 12 hours in order to achieve a source of income that helps him support his family consisting of his wife and three sons.

“Disability does not stand in the way of any ambition and I chose a way to neutralize it in proportion to my ability to work,” said Hossam, who has future ambitions, including the establishment of a special educational institution in which he employs his academic scientific capabilities while following up on his children and striving to achieve material and moral stability for them to reach their goals.

Hossam, according to the young man, Alaa Al-Sayeh, owner of a shop in the industrial zone, is a struggling man who defied the conditions of his disability and left a distinctive imprint with his work and business dealings and set a model for a person with disabilities to follow.
